Artist Memory: Treaty of Paris’ Dan Wade

Today, our Metro 30th memory comes from a band who has played Metro more times than we can count. Ok, so we could definitely count them, but go with us here. Treaty of Paris’ guitarist, Dan Wade, shares the story of his experiences on the Metro stage:
“Every time my band Treaty of Paris played, we always made the show into an event. It wasn’t enough to just get up their and run through our set; we just had to do something unexpected and excited. After all, playing Metro was, and still is, a big deal for any band. We always tried to add something to our stage show, a la The Flaming Lips, whether it was goofy outfits (our drummer once played a whole set wearing only a bath towel, another as Santa Claus), a fan-made photo slideshow, funny mid-set videos, confetti drops, glitter drops, balloon drops, fake money drops, mid-show costume changes, special guests, oddball cover songs, and my favorite, people dressed up in giant animal costumes. Metro always brought out the best in our live show, and the staff always helped to accommodate whatever weird idea we had.”

(update: Treaty of Paris confirmed that they’ve played Metro 14 times!)
