If you read yesterdays post on the Smashing Pumpkins August 1990 show, you know that Metro’s Saturday Midwest Music Conference lineup that year was pretty tight. But hey, so was Sunday’s.
In fact, all of Chicago was buzzing with good tunes that brought early 90s rock fans out in hoards that weekend. And that’s exactly what MMC organizers intended - to put “Chicago back on the record industry map.” Read more about the conference and see the full list of bands that played throughout the city that weekend including Metro’s stacked 8/26 “Minnesota at the Metro” bill made up of Minnesotans (of course), Babes in Toyland, Magnolias, Arc Welder, & Morgan Addics. You can find those reads here via Chicago Reader, and here via the Tribune.
