Forged in 1980’s Chicago’s melting pot of music eclecticism, Urge Overkill seized the Metro stage in all their bellbottomed, medallion-flashing glory on September 1, 1993 for the Saturation record release show. Flanked by openers Lucious Jackson and Specula, vocalists Eddie “King” Roeser and Nash Kato traded their dark rhymes atop a fuzz-ridden musical assault. Armed with a four-disc catalog at the time, Urge Overkill cranked out a diverse set that left attendees’ ears ringing and hips shaking.
