Setlist: Lenny Kravitz, 3/3/90
On October 3, 1989, Lenny Kravitz brought his heavy-hitting funk fusion to life at Metro for a bargain price of $6. Touring behind his debut album Let Love Rule, Kravitz honed in on his artistic upbringing and wide span of musical influences. Shortly thereafter, Kravitz landed a brief opening stint for Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers which garnered him the momentum return to headline Metro for the second and last time on March 3rd, 1990. His set that night was short but powerful, capped with “Fear,” a slinky, edgy funk track penned by then-wife, actress Lisa Bonet. Check out the entire set list from the show above.
