Still nursing fresh wounds from former band The Birthday Party’s breakup, Australian eccentric Nick Cave assembled his now-iconic experimental punk band The Bad Seeds. Two years and two albums later, Cave and The Bad Seeds landed at Metro on October 24, 1985. Cave and his band of post-punk pioneers continued to explore post-punk instrumentation while breaking for Cave’s lyrical detours to the American South. The band toured on the back of their second studio album, The Firstborn Is Dead, a nine-track musical experiment stretching Cave and his band’s talents and influences to the far-reaching corners of punk, blues and rock.
